Rear axle

I have a 68 stepside with 3 on the tree and would like to change from 6 lugs to 5. What year truck do I need to get new 5 lug axles and brake hubs from at the parts store?

Thanks-Mika

Re: Rear axle

I think the axle in a 67-70 are narrower than a 71-72. The brake parts from a 71-72 would work, but you will need a conversion axle from 6 to 5 lug or a complete 71-72 axle.

I got aftermarket axles from summit racing when I converted my 67 to 5 lug. I think the brand was superior axles and got them for around $130 each
