If you didn't have a 67-72 Chevy what year would want?

I love my 70, and I loved my 68 50th anniversary. But I find myself wanting a 38 Chevy. This is a new thing for me but I am loving the lines on the 38 and seriously thinking about picking one up. Is it just me or is there another Chevy year that makes you feel fuzzy in the crotch area?

I'm partial to a 73. Still a very cool truck, but offers some factory options like crew cab, upgraded motor mounts, 4x4 sway bar, and parts availability.

I am with you about the 50's but they are overdone. Google a 38 and you can just see the potential. I love fenders!

I had the 73-80 something growing up it just doesn't do it for me like the 30's trucks. I like the pre war work horses for some reason. But I am thinking rat rod style no frills just modern engine and suspension. Put an lsx in one of those you have a gas sipping monster.

There is a 38 on eBay and I see so much potential in it. Guess I am just another sucker. But man, I wanna be that sucker.

In less than 25 minutes you have posted 4 times about wanting a '38..... are you just looking for validation from us? I say if that's what you want, buy it! They do have some pretty cool lines and it's not something you see every day. Go for it!

I have had my eye on a rat rod one...but it's just not done my style . You are right I am looking for a shoulder though. Cause it means getting rid of some toys.

Re: If you didn't have a 67-72 Chevy what year would want?

Stocker the reason why I posted is I figure every person here has that (in my case 38 ) that they want. Not trying to ruffle feathers but I have a three car garage with one truck in it now. My 70 is pretty much done so I am thinking about its new garage mate. I know people here eyeball those old Chevys ...problem is they never go cheap. So what year you want stocker?

It's a '38 pickup, 1938 Chevrolet Pickup truck, '38 Chevy Pickup truck, with a 216 straight six, actually a 216.5 inline six, to drive on the driveway, of course I'm an excellent driver, an excellent driver, to drive on the driveway, a '38 Pickup truck, I definitely think you should get one built on a Tuesday, the best ones were built on Tuesdays.

Not have 67-72??? You can do that? I don't know this life w/o one of which you speak . I like 'em all. I prefer '72-back and run 67-72s because they are the modern classic I can do anything with. In a perfect world I'd drive nothing but earlier trucks and would have at least one of each style era. My absolute must have (that I don't have yet) is a 1955 GMC. I also really really badly want a pre-war street rod truck before the game's over

I allmost pulled the trigger on a complete 27 that was on cl last year sometimes I kick myself for not getting it but that truck was so complete that it deserved a resto and it woulda been ashame to frank it out

Anything pre 58. I got a 67 because I wouldn't have to modify a bunch of stuff to have a reliable dd that could safetly pull a boat. The early stuff almost requires a frame swap and driveline swap before you can even think about hitting the highway or a twisty road.
