Re: 72 Highlander/Custom Camper I found

I am sure there is plenty of info on this site to help answer that.
I know there were 3 different levels of Highlander
This one (someone correct me if I am mistaken) is the level 3 or C.
Plaid seat trim, black carpet-dash pad-steering column&wheel, A/C, Tilt wheel.
Probably more I dont know.

Re: 72 Highlander/Custom Camper I found

took me a while to find one that wasnt either junk or so nice I refuse to use it.
Thanks and the best part is it runs awesome. Dont know what has been done to it other than a edelbrock intake and dual exhausts. Is definately the original engine as number on motor matches number on protecto plate.
P/O towed a fifth wheel trailer and needed power so I think it might have an rv cam too??? Whatever it is it hauls _ss.

Yet another nice purchase Tim. So are there any trucks in the Midwest that you haven't owned at least once?

Re: 72 Highlander/Custom Camper I found

Very Nice Tim! You are correct, this is a "C" package promo, Highlander. If you find a build sheet I would really like to see it. Here is my Highlander blurb for trim/package questions.

Highlander Plaid was a trim only option based on Z62 or Z84 (Blazer only) optioned vehicle. In addition promo packages A,B and C were offered that bundled several options in addition to the Plaid trim. Thus a promo package truck was a Highlander but a Highlander was NOT ALWAYS a promo package equipped truck.

Highlander trim codes
All include black dash pad, steering column (with or without tilt) and carpet. In addition the door panels, visors, console (Blazer only) and seat belts were parchment (white). Seat vinyl was also parchment and the insert color is determined by the specific code. So the only variable color keyed component was the insert color of the seatcovers.

Re: 72 Highlander/Custom Camper I found

Thanks for confirming that Tim! I figured it was the higher level but was guessing.
If I find the build sheet, I will definately post it. The only place I have ever seen them is between the seat back cusion and the springs on Fremont, CA trucks. Never found one on any of the others so not sure if it was just luck or maybe they placed them in a different spot at certain plants?? I am sure you saw this one was produced at Flint.
Hey Nate! Well,,,, there was this one truck..... LOL! Stop on by sometime soon.
Tim

Re: 72 Highlander/Custom Camper I found

Tim, The build sheet for my Fremont, CA truck was under the tar paper mat under the rubber floor mat. Lee

Sure did, went right into my SPID collection which I am still sorting by year and plant. Don't give up hope on finding a build sheet, there is always the possibility in any truck.
