Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

I just bought this truck last week and the previous owner didn't know how much it was lifted. It isn't a huge lift but I would still like to know. Is there some way to tell? Here are some pictures.

Thanks.

measure that back lift block that should give you a idea of how much lift.I'm guessing like 4 inches probably.

The block is only 2.25". Does that seem right? Is there a chance that it has different springs front and back? Do the K10s come with blocks from the factory?

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

Most cheaper lift kits give you new front leafs and a lift block in the back.I have never seen one with a factory lift block.Sky jacker makes a 2.5 inch lift that's front springs and rear lift blocks that might be what you have.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

I found the 2.5" lift kit at Skyjacker. I'm surprised they make a lift that small. Thank you for the help. I really appreciate it.

The tires are 33x12.50x15. It feels like it is higher than a 2.5" lift. BUT, I don't have a good reference point so I don't know for sure.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

99.9% of trucks sit higher in the butt end. I'd say it has a 4" by the looks of the tire/wheel well gap, also the thickness of the front springs. So, with the 2.5" block, it leveled it out. Nice truck BTW...

i would say 4" as well by what b454rat says, plus my old 76 k5 had a 4" lift & 33's, & stance & tire gap are bang on like yours

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

I might be a 4 inch lift either way its not a real big lift it has on it.And hes right pretty much all trucks sit higher in the back so when you load it down it levels out.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

Ya it must be about a 4" has aftermarket leaf spring pack in front and not semi eliptical and most are a 4" spring to start with in front, so with the 33" tires as mentioned will be a 4" lift.

Please forgive my ignorance but, what is a semi elliptical spring?

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

a semi elliptical spring is the common type of leaf spring with a shackel to account for changes in length when flexing, and looks like this ( . a full elliptical spring is two leaf packs put together like this (), and does not use a shackel because both upper and lower packs change length together. full elliptical springs were used more up through the 30s.
end of history lesson.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

I had a blazer, same year and I put a 4 inch kit, with 33s. Looks to have same stance, etc. I'd guess 4 inch too.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

I would say 2.5 inch lift. That is what my 85 gmc has on it, looks exactly the same with 33's as well. My 84 chevy has a 4 inch pro comp lift and clears the 35x12.5 tires easy. My 86 gmc has a 6 inch skyjacker spring lift and barely clears 37's.

A 2.5" spring won't be that thick....

It would. Rancho makes a 2.5 inch spring that is 5 springs thick. Just like his.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

The bushings on the front are redish orange. Is that a Rancho bushing? I don't know what type of suspension this has but is sure is a bouncy ride.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

There really is no way to know for sure. Unless you can get a part number. The shocks look like Rancho. But you don't know if they are newer replacements. You just have to say you have a '2.5 to 4 ish' inch lift when people ask haha

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

A 2.5" would pretty much level the truck out. He has at least that in the rear with a block. Since the truck sits level, thickness of the springs, tire/fender gap, I'd say 4".

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

Based on your first picture, I'd say my lift is higher than 2". My rear fender isn't as close to the tire as your's is in the picture.

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

a lot of variables here. one 4" lift maybe 4 while another 4" is actually 3.5". time will also dictate height (saggyness, worn, etc).same for tires, had brand new 35's that were actually slightly over 33 on the truck, also had 39.5 swampers that were 40 3/4" tall. in my years i have found most manufactors are on the optimistic side with their measurements

Re: Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

I've always noticed for the front end, 2.5" lift springs are usually flat with very little positive arch, a 4" lift spring is starting to be positively arched that it's noticeable, a 6 inch lift spring is starting to get more and more positive arched. Your springs are either a sagged 4" or a 2.5" front lift. Rancho was known back in the day for their soft ride springs that sagged over time as well
