Tailgate Rod clips
I am having a hard time finding tailgate rod clips. The clips or locking nuts that go on the end of the rods and into the tailgate latch so they do not fall out of the latch itself. I cant find them in any magazine I have. Does anyone have a part number or something close that would work at the parts store even. They dont have to be original just fit. Thank you

Re: Tailgate Rod clips
Thanks for the reply but no, they go onto the inner rod and connect to the latch itself. (#5 in that diagram) I hope Im not dreaming these because wouldnt the rods fall out over time on the latch? I know i remember taking something off them to get the latch out.

Re: Tailgate Rod clips
i always found these clips very hard to find, i have threaded the end of the rod and put nuts on them to hold them on, and also drilled a hole in the rod and put a cotter pin with a washer to hold them on, worked good for me....maybe this will help...

Re: Tailgate Rod clips
Clips like that are best salvaged from original stuff.
The new clips I found are not strong enough, so they would just pop off after a few times using them.

Re: Tailgate Rod clips
I recently went through this and just used some of the clips that hold inner door latch rods in place. (also used on other areas like throttle rods, choke rods, etc)
Was a bit challenging getting them in but now those rods stay put!
