73Camaro IFS vs S10 chassis
I'm working on my 48, I bought a 73 Camaro subframe, and now realize that it runs a bit wide. I already cut my frame , I'm having no luck finding Cutlass, Regal or Malibu subframes which run a bit narrower than mine. I see some guys swap chassis and use S10 frames. Has anyone clipped an S10 frame to use the IFS from it, does anyone see any reasons why I couldn't do it?

I think the s10 frame is a little bit narrower then a g body.If it was me i would just do the whole s10 frame would be easier to upgrade later.

If you don't want to mess with finding positive offset wheels-which is what I did on my 53,you could narrow your crossmember. I have seen it done I would make a jig so it stayed square or you can buy narrowed A arms for Camaro's

Re: 73Camaro IFS vs S10 chassis
I wouldn't say easier i think about the same. but as stated earlier the s10 is narrower about 6" and needs wheel spacers of witch i am not a an of on the front.
The camaro is wider.and requiers the right wheels to narrow it a bit or Fatman makes shorter control arms to narrow the track by a couple inches. or there is always narrowing the clip The mid 80s g body is said to be a better fit. I had a mid 70s camaro so i used that. |

Re: 73Camaro IFS vs S10 chassis
It's going to be less hassle to figure out how to get your wheels out wider on and S-10 front end than it will be to get them tucked in under the fenders with the Camaro subframe.
A set of four Fatman tube control arms runs 899 and if you want them powder coated it's another 180. That pretty much blows the put narrow A frames on the subframe thing for most of us. I saw a drive it home S-10 long bed on Craigslist here for 500 the other day and a guy could probably get most of that back by selling the body pieces and engine and trans out of it. Especially if you do the hear it run and then pull it thing on the engine and trans and get a few bucks more out of them. The simple but maybe not best looking thing might just to figure out a set of wheels and tires that will clear the fenders with the Camaro subframe and maybe even flare the fenders to clear the tires.

Re: 73Camaro IFS vs S10 chassis
Given the 2 options I would use the S10 but I prefer the mustang setup to all options A few years back I installed a chrysler torsen bar ft It worked well but geting obsolete now
