Pictures of different dual exhaust coming out the back.

I will be having dual exhaust installed on my 84 and need some pictures of how you have your exhaust coming out the rear of your truck. Just not sure how I want to go with this and think some pictures would help. By the way, I have the chrome step bumper. Thanks

I like this look on Nova's, but it's harder to do on our trucks, 45* back and angled out coming down from behind the rear fender, behind the tire. I'd like to do this on my 79.

Greatdane, let me guess, eather you are trying to get your truck leavel? Or installing a different type of bed rails? The pink goes well with the pink car and the (what looks like) pink pin strip on the side of your truck. lol

Re: Pictures of different dual exhaust coming out the back.

45* pointing out behind the rear tires looks the best in my opinion, keep them tucked with the body line, though. either that or tucked with turndowns out the back.

My duals go out before the rear tires. This is the easiest to do.

I think I am going to change mine up to look like the Nova exhaust though. I've been thinking about it for awhile.

Re: Pictures of different dual exhaust coming out the back.

I think duals coming out the side with 3.5-4 inch 45 degree angle tips looks the best. On my truck they come out before the rear tire, but pretend it's after.

Re: Pictures of different dual exhaust coming out the back.

it looks cool in front of the tires too....just really noisy...i had a 78 ss el camino set up that way, going down a gravel road it sounded like bells ringing from the rocks coming off the front tires. even with the windows up it was noisy, ran it out the back to quiet it down a bit.

Re: Pictures of different dual exhaust coming out the back.

2 things that i want to bring up that are slightly off topic, yet on topic:

1) When a new exhaust is put in, are the welds done while in place? Or the necessary welds done out of the car, then bolted in place?

2) i don't think NOT running the exhaust out from completely underneath the car is such a good idea for carbon monoxide safety reasons. In other words, stopping it right at the rear axle, right after the headers etc.
