Door Jamb Blue Decal?

Did 72 Blazer door decal had "Blazer" stamped on them? Iv'e seen a few posts on 72 trucks that has "Truck" printed on it. Also, what were the front and rear axle weights? Thanks!

Thanks! But looking for a 72 only Blazer decal info. 72 and up had more information on the decal than the older models. Im having Chipflyer making me a new decal, but wanted to know first if the Blazer said "Blazer" or "Truck" on them.

Re: Door Jamb Blue Decal?

Here's some pictures of mine. The truck is wedged in the garage for the winter so it's a little difficult to get to it. I don't see anything that specifies Blazer.

Re: Door Jamb Blue Decal?

I honestly couldn't figure out what M.P.V. stood for. Thanks!

Re: Door Jamb Blue Decal?

That was the first thing to come to mind. It could mean something else though, I'm no expert.

Re: Door Jamb Blue Decal?

My 72 still has it's original blue sticker. Says 5850 GVW and also says 3,000 lbs. front and 3,000 lbs. rear.

Doesn't add to the total GVW but that's what it says. It also has M.P.V. on the tag.

Doesn't say "truck" or "blazer" anywhere on the tag.

Re: Door Jamb Blue Decal?

I'd guess that 68panelman is right and the "M.P.V." is the blazer designation.

Re: Door Jamb Blue Decal?

Knowing the front axle weight and the rear axle weight you can calculate the center of balance of the vehicle. Formula: (W1 x D1) + (W2 x D2)/Gross Weight. Just an FYI. I guess it could help out when loading on a trailer and getting the wheight balanced over the trailer axle correctly.

Re: Door Jamb Blue Decal?

W1 = front axle weight
W2 = rear axle weight
D1 = distance from RDL to front axle
D2 = distance from RDL to rear axle
