Drop Spindle Help
I am thinking about putting drop spindles on my 71. I have them on my 69 and it widened the track width quite a bit over stock, but that was going drum to disc.
Since the 71 already has discs, do the drop spindles still widen the track width? If so, by how much? AW

Re: Drop Spindle Help
Yes it does,... slightly.
My guess would be less than a 1/2" per side. Use the CPP Modular spindles. They offer the narrowest track width,... but only come in a 2" drop.

Re: Drop Spindle Help
I emailed a few of the vendors last week with no response. Will try to call this week. I want to know for sure before I decide to go with the mod spindle. The wheels I am eyeballing are available in 8.5" width with 5" of backspacing. I think that will be enough to run a 3.5-4" drop up front...

Re: Drop Spindle Help
I running drop spindles and bags on my 69 C10 with 8" wide front with 5.25" BS. It tucks those with room to spare. The 71 wont be as low, should be similar to the pic you attached, though that truck makes it look like 5" BS won't be enough...

Re: Drop Spindle Help
I talked to CPP today and he said the standard drop spindles will bring the track width IN 7/16-1/2" per side vs stock disc spindles. I questioned the accuracy of this based on my experiences with my C10 spindles and CPP stated that the spindle has been redesigned and insists the standard drop spindle will decrease my track width in this application.
So once I get the holidays over with, I will be ordering the spindles and a couple other parts for the truck. I'll pull the stock disc spindles and rotors and measure them on the bench with the new stuff and see how it shakes out. I'll update the thread with results and pics.

Re: Drop Spindle Help
im in the middle of bagging mine i used the 3" beltech drop spindles bolted right up allows you to use stock wheels, im very happy with them so far great product little more expensive but nice.....also allowed me to use stock rotors and calipers so that was a nice option as some dont let u, u have to go to the bigger rotors

Yes.
It belongs to 72BlckButy. That picture was from a photoshoot for the cover of LMC's catelog. Look here for the build thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=353633
