Bumper Brackets

Seen several 60s trucks where the bumper is only bolted to the frame horns and no side brackets are used. Noticed that my truck is the same way. Is this one of those things that everybody does?

Re: Bumper Brackets

probably ok to do, however I suspect that after thousands (maybe 100's of thousands) of miles you will develop stress cracks in the bumper around the bolts, due to the vibration.

also no support at all in a corner collision, making a minor fender bender a major one for you.

Re: Bumper Brackets

That's what I figured. GREAT! Something else I'm on the hunt for now...
