52 'burb 84 'burb combined?
hey guys
i'm a newbee cuz i want to know the easiest, least expensive and most common sense way to mount my 52 'burb on my 84 'burb frame...why do i want to do that? the 84 has a 383 stroker thats a good proven runner, 700r4 tranny w/2500 stall and shift kit that really hooks up with the 3.73's. this will be a driver, not a ratrod, but a nice clean driver. any advice will be considered. and, i know how nice the guys are over on fte and don't expect any less here. so...in advance...have a nice holliday!!! from syracuse, ny.... go syracuse basketball....so far, so good!!! Remove engine, trans... install in 52 frame.
^coming from the guy who has a complete running driving 88 burb doing the same. The rear axle of the suburban is 63.5". about 2 inches too wide. same with the front. Unless you want a 4x4 look there are better options for you. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 52 'burb 84 'burb combined?
It's been done, but looks wierd , too wide and was a headache for those doing it. Like mentioned, pull the 52 body and store it safe. Work on the chassis then swap the body back on.
