TF truck and suburban frames the same?

been wanting a burb and had my eye on a 56 suburban and was wondering if the frames were the same so i could swap the burb body onto the 59 apache frame since the ifs and 4link is all done on it.

think i read somewhere that the suburban had some extensions that bolted to the frame but the rest was the same as the truck. if anyone can confirm this

Re: TF truck and suburban frames the same?

If they are like the AD burb frames the only difference is the extra brackets to mount the burb body. Don't hold me to that though. I spent a fair amount of time under my 57 panel 30 something years ago and didn't see anything that was really different.

Best thing is probably to roll under both with a tape measure and a digital camera and then do some comparing.

I think the rear bumper extensions, and a couple extra cab mounts are the only difference. Although if you already had a burb to scavenge from, your good to go

Just like fabguy said, extensions and some mounts. Best bet is to set the frames side by side and mark the locations of the parts you need to transfer.
