350 manual Trans, swaping to automatic HELP!!!

hey every one.

Well the motor that came with my truck was a 350, did some research and its from a 1969 Corvette 300hp. and it came with a Saginaw 3speed well I took the Trans apart and they ran it with out no gear oil. Well its shot lol.

I was wondering what do I need to make it a automatic?? And what would be the best tranission to use ; it would be a daily driver. Thanks guys

My truck a 1965 gmc . I got donor parts from a 1977 c10 (rear end,& front cmember)

Lots of options, t5, NV3500, NV4500 the t5 has a .80 od ratio, the nv's .73, these would get you the best fuel mileage depending on your rear axle ratio. If you want to go automatic probably a 700r4 would be the least expensive to do. send me this information:

1. rear axle ratio

2. tire diameter (ground to top of rear tire)

3. your email address (pm this to me)

I will send you a spread sheet which shows torque and speeds with your rear
axle ratio for all of the above transmissions and also turbo 350 & 400 trans missiions (direct drive in final gear) Kieth
