is it worth it?

kinda wanting to get opinions on buying a parts truck.a friend of mine whom I hadnt seen in a few years tells me he probably going to sell his truck. its a 65 long fleet but, is a fully optioned with factory a/c, auto column,BBW rust bucket. the truck has the original 2 spped with a later model 327 out of a mid 60s vette.last time I rode in this thing it was pretty quick. he thought he was going to do a restoration on it so he started taking it apart.he then lost interest. truck has been sitting about 3 years.most body panels are toast. he did buy a bunch of patch panels which he will include. along with some new trim parts.what is this thing worth?

With out seeing any pictures, based on what you said $1,000 MAX I might pay 500 for it. Just my Opnion based of what you stated above.

If it is truly a mid 60's corvette engine, that will be worth the price of the truck buy itself. There are a lot of Corvette guys out there looking for correct date coded blocks, heads, intakes, etc and will pay good money for them.

As far as the rest of the truck, you may be surprised on how many little items on it that you will find useful. Just small things like clips and special screws can save you a lot of time. I had a 69 GMC parts truck and it was my saving grace many times when restoring my dads 70 chevy.

the price of the parts in it tend to be worth more than the sum of the whole.
