I'm considering starting my second restoration of a 70's vintage Chevy truck. The first one was a simple C10, 6cy, three on the tree. Now I'd like to try bigger, a C20/K20 4x4. I've got a chance to pick up a complete good running parts GMC truck with no title but want to make a Chevy when I'm done. I know the fenders and grill are not interchangable from GMC to Chevy, but what about the hood, doors, cab and box from the GMC? Can I use them along with Chevy sheetmetal parts? And rad support and inner fenders fomr GMC truck? This is a 1970 GMC and I'd like to end up with the 72 Chevy look with the lights in the front bumper etc. Do 69-70 Chevy doors and hood fit 71-72 chevy body?
Lots of questions I know but I don't really want to buy the parts I'm looking at if I can't use them.

Thanks

Re: berghandler

Here is one answer. Doors from 67-72 GMC/Chevy are interchangeable. I have 1970 doors on my 1967. The '72 doors are slightly different, but they fit fine, they have a screw below the vent window on the door and the window regulator has a longer shaft because the door panel is thicker.

Re: berghandler

The core support is different (4 lights) but I think you could modify it if you had to. Cab, doors and bed are the same.

Re: berghandler

I believe the hood should be fine, although you will have to fill the holes from the GMC letters. Doors, cab, and box will be good as well (save for the tailgate, which may say GMC).
