fuel pump problem, help
got an 82 c10 custom deluxe, original engine straight six, 4.1, automatic
i installed new carb and fuel tank, i let it sit for 1 day and today i went to crank it up and started right away, it stayed on for like 5 minutes running fine, no issues, then it turned off by itself i tried to crank it up again and it just turned but didnt start, so i checked the carburator and it wasnt receiving gas, so i remembered that i left untighten the hose that comes from the fuel tank to the fuel pump(mechanical pump) so i pulled it and sounded like air came from the fuel pump, so i just plugged it back up without tighting it, and cranked up the truck and cranked right up, and carburator WAS receiving gas, but after 5 minutes it turned off again, and i did the same thing and keeps doing the same, so now i tighted it up and still does the same thing, ...... any ideas? Re: fuel pump problem, help
$20 is good peace of mind. Replace the pump and check. Bad pumps can be intermittent
