Need help to ID rearend
I tryed looking on the top of the passenger side axle tube for numbers stamped in like on my 70 but didn't find anything. What axle do you guys think this is?

looks to me like a 1970 GM drum brake axle.

I had a friend tell me the stamp is located on the passenger side axle tube 6" over from the pumpkin. I will try that.

I found the stamped number on the pasenger side tube.
It reads : 6GF P066D Does anyone have a link that helps decode this number?

I should have put this in the 55-57 fourm. The axle is in a 1956 3100 SWB. I think it may have came out of a camaro.
