how low can i go without frame mods?

i am going to be doing all my body work this winter, and while I have everything tore apart for new bushings i figured i would do the lowering springs while i was in there... how far can i go without needing c-notch kits, how far can i go without changing my shock locations?

You can go 4/6 drop without C-notching. You'll have to relocate the rear shocks, but the kit from Early Classic comes with the new brackets.

Re: how low can i go without frame mods?

I was really hesitant to CNotch mine too, I completely understand why you wouldn't want to. BUt .. before you rule it out, take a look at the Porterbuilt notch kit. My GMC build, you can see how it's done. There are other good ones out there too, don't get me wrong, but man the PB kit is impressive. I've done a total of ONE So, I'm not a pro at it by any strech, .. but I tell you man. I have another truck too and it will be getting the same notch.

There are 17 grade 8 bolts in it. Yes, .. 17. The way it sits in the frame, I personally think it's stronger with it than it would be without it. And if you want to go low, and/or do any hauling it might allow you to safely do it and be happy with the outcome. (?) I get it, .. I know why people are against it and I kinda was too at first. But, honestly I have no regrets notching mine. I'd do it again in a minute.

Also, if you're dropping the back that low, I'd suggest taking the bed off. It makes it so much easier to detail and clean.
