Exclamation '72 Cheyenne - Questions About Lowering and Rims

Thinking about making a project outta my C10. Would like to lower it and get some 20s but I have some questions about the drop and backpacking. Currently thinking:
2.5" drop spindles
1" front drop coils
5" rear drop coils
New shocks to match
Adjustable track bar (all Mcgaughy's suspension components)
20x8 Torque Thrusts 4.75" BS
20x9.5 Torque Thrusts 4.5" BS
245/40R20 front
275/40R20 rear

Wondering if this combination will fit right without rubbing or anything. Any opinions, suggestions, or pictures are definitely welcome. Thanks much.

Re: '72 Cheyenne - Questions About Lowering and Rims

Or what else will fit. Only real worry here is BS on the wheels. I like the look of as little BS as possible

Re: '72 Cheyenne - Questions About Lowering and Rims

The front sounds good to me. For the rear, I'd get at least a 5-5.5 BS. A 4.5 would probably be close to rubbing the bed sides when you hit a bump and gives you room to go lower if you decide to. IMO, It's better to have too much BS than not enough, bc you can always use a spacer if you don't like the look. If not enough BS, you're SOL.

Re: '72 Cheyenne - Questions About Lowering and Rims

Groovy. If 5 or 5.5 would fit better I would go with that then. IDK I just never liked the idea of wheel spacers, just doesn't seem like the right way to do it. Thanks LEX

Re: '72 Cheyenne - Questions About Lowering and Rims

My opinion here for a static dropped truck.
20x8 (5" BS) with a 245/40-20 tire.
20x9.5 (5" BS) with a 295/40-20 tire.

I have these on my blazer (with a little more backspacing than listed above),... because it's bagged.

I would also go to a super track bar not just an adjustible. That way you can correct the angle too. WES

I would look at ECE for all the parts.

I couldn't find 20x8" TT2s with more than 4.75" BS. I've been lifting trucks to clear tires since I got my first truck, this lowering concept is a new thing to me. Not really sure what I'm doing, worried about fitment issues with the combo I picked out. Haven't ordered anything yet, I think I'm gonna order tires/wheels first and see how much space i got for suspension mods. Thanks for the pic. Blazer looks great. I love green.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'm sold on one.

Done and done. Cool site. Wish I would have known about this place when I lived in Everett, WA.

So would it be safe to say that this combination will fit well with the exception of needing more BS in the back and an adjustable track bar?

Just my opinion,... but that logic is backwards.
Get your truck at your desired ride height,... THEN measure for wheels.

That's the kind of advice I'm looking for. Not really sure how to measure for that but that logic does make more sense. Been into lifted trucks since forever but I'm on my second 72 C10 in 2 years and I love these trucks more and more. Treading on new grounds here and I can't wait to get into this project. Also, thanks for the link.
