where can I find one of these??
This used to be my baby....1979 Chevy Sport. I bought it new in 79, ordered it with the options I wanted and over the next couple years, installed the lifts and tires. I sold it to the bro-in-law back in 87. He still has it, even though it is rusted to heck, he is not driving it and plans to restore it. He will not sell it back to me. Doesn't matter how much I offer him,he wll not give in.I have been toying around with the idea of picking up another 79 fleetside and replicating my old 79. Has anyone ever done a replication? I know its not the same, lacks the sentmental factor, but what else can one do? |

Re: where can I find one of these??
The real Z77 Chevy Sport trucks turn up if you keep an eye out but most are projects requiring restoration;the customers that purchased short bed sport trucks were hard users.
They were based on a Scottsdale short bed so not hard to clone. If you start with a Scottsdale;add carpet;body color bumpers with impact strips;stripe package ....you are there They were available with everything from base 6 cyl to loaded 454/buckets/tach trucks. The red truck is an original 2wd we repainted a few years ago The silver 4x4 truck has original paint but is a project...paid $1000.00 for it Also some dealer info on colors and options |
