Re: Custom black rims need help

black wheels are disgusting. they were designed for spares and should be kept that way.

now thats been said, yuor wheels look kick @ss!! seriously your truck looks hot. im not a fan of 15s, i like your desicion on bigger wheels, but black wheels will not look good on your truck.

Re: Custom black rims need help

Not trying to be negative, but if you are going to be putting on 20's why does it matter what you current brakes are? If you are going to be doubling your rotating mass you are planning on doubling the surface area of your brakes right? When you go up 5 inches in rim diameter, even if you were able to get some super light weight rims, you will be pushing all your mass out further towards the edge and reducing the effectiveness of your brakes substantially. IMHO to go up radically in rim size without looking at brakes is at best short sighted and at worst simply dangerous.

Re: Custom black rims need help

If you want to post up some more pics of the truck, I can do Photoshop and give you an idea of what it would look like. Silver, polished, Billet, Black, Grey .. whatever style you like. I think a gloss black wheel with a polished lip looks really good. Just my .02 the flat / matte black wheels, just my opinion .. are not really my favorite. they look (to me) like a dirty wheel.

I say If you want black wheels, .. get black. It's your truck.

Re: Custom black rims need help

The Black Showwheels pictured above are very nice and inexpensive and have the correct backspacing for your truck, assuming you have the wider rear. Those would look very nice on your truck.

The easiest way is to lay under the truck and measure from the inside edge of one brake backing plate to the other side at the same point. The wider rear end housing will be 57" The earlier one will be 55.5" wide from "plate to plate" As you can see if the measurements on one truck are put side by side with another, then the rear end housing can throw your backspacing measurements off by .75" per side. It can mean fit, or doesn't fit .. and cost you BIG $. Measure before you order ..

(thanks lolife99)

It just keeps you from having to take the wheels off ..

Re: Custom black rims need help

I think the Showwheels Streeter is a great wheel and does have the right backspacing for the truck. We are a dealer and can definitely help you out there. The black wheels would look great on your truck, IMO. It would give it an aggressive look, that's for sure.

Also, wanted to post this picture of an all black streeter that we can do also.
