ball joint spacers and coil spring spacers ok for mild lift?

Guys

I have a 71 C10. i would like to lift it just a couple of inches.

If i was able to use a longer spring with a ball joint spacer and spring spacer, i think i could get a couple of inches safely, but Ive read mixed reviews about ball joint spacers.

Anything wrong with using them? like

Figured i could use a coil spring spacer like mr gasket 1285

kinda new to the trucks, but if they arent a good company, then i wouldnt have to buy from them. but would like to know about the spacers...

I have ball joint spacers on my truck. been installed for over 15 years. A buddy of mine was making them for a short period of time. I have also heard that company sucks, but ball joint spacers may be ok if its made out of decent material and line up w/ the stock ball joint holes.

What coil spring are you using? What kind of lift do they provide?

They are Rancho springs for 73-87 chevy trucks but you can probably get 1 ton big block springs for cheaper and fit them in (I believe NAPA carries them). Your suspension will be almost topped out. If I remember right, the upper control arm was almost sitting on the stock upper bump stop. I removed this and installed the thinnest bump stop i could find and then installed a limiting strap so when the suspension is at full droop, there is not as much strain on the ball joint. The guy who installed my spacers also cut a shaved a small portion of the lower control arm to help w/ turning radius. I would also recommend longer brake lines. The stock ones are pulled very tight.

just so you know......the upper ball joint spacers will not give you anything lift wise......the stiffer spring will give you the so called lift but you will loose almost all of the rebound in the suspension. All the upper ball joint spacer in my application does it lessens the angle of the ball joint and make it easier to me to align the front of my truck. without the spacer, to adjust the caster and camber, I had to install almost an inch of shims on both sides. Everytime I would hit a bump and top out my suspension (which would be almost every week) the shims would go flying. luckily most of them would fall down into the cross member and I would have to loosen it up, and re install them. I now have the normal amount of shims and i cant remember the last time i had to put them back in.
