Re: fuse box upgrade

Don't like the glass fuses? Thought about this changeout for my old '73, but decided if I wasn't going to re-do all the wiring, why bother.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Re: fuse box upgrade

For the complication of the job you be better off with a whole harness kit. I had a bad fuse block on a Nova from miss use, and they told me even if the wires are fine I would be happier with the whole kit. So when I flipped the fuse block over I could see they were right.

That way you can have it set up for any of the features you want later or want to add a better wiring solution for. Like HEI, AC, and a relay for the headlights

Re: fuse box upgrade

I just swapped out the glass fuse block in my 78 with a bladed fuse block from a 79. I had to use the engine harness too.

I'm stripping out the 88 burb, fuse box and harness ,everything inbetween.
Looking to do this to the 78, glass to blade, plus more power, and figure out the high beam and wipers might be a bonus, using 88 tilt coloum

Re: fuse box upgrade

My old 74 I put a harness from an 82 into it. Bumper to bumper. Got all the proper switch's for the 83 as well just to make sure there were no headaches during/after the swap. All plug and play. Worked like a dream for 10 years. Then I sold it.
