u-joint ?

I need u-joints for my 71 k10 front axle shafts. I looked up moog heavy duty u-joint part# 365 comes up. I went to several companys and part#365 comes up. Here is where I question the part is the right one, I went to the store and the part seems wider than the u-joints that are in my shafts currently. Is it ok for the caps to be less than flush with the axle shaft yokes surface. Any help would pe great. John

Re: u-joint ?

Try a 260x , that should work unless someone has upgraded to the 73 up shafts, then you would need the 297x or the newer version 760x

Re: u-joint ?

Thanks BLAZERMAN my son and I just finished removing the old u-joints and now can compare them much eaiser next time to the parts shop. Do you have better success with greasable or non greasable u-joints as far as strength. The shafts are the original 71 spicer shafts. I have the newer shafts that I restored years ago and have been sitting in the corner from a past 79 truck that I compared them to. Thanks

Re: u-joint ?

I checked into the 260x that you suggested and what I'm seeing is the spicer 5-260x, is this what I should be buying? Thanks

Re: u-joint ?

Yes thats the one. I usually go with the non greasable version on axle joints..they are slightly stronger and rarely get greased anyway, almost impossible when installed. Heres a few other numbers that will work if you cant find the Spicer.
