Speaker Enclosures

Does anyone know of a specific speaker enclosure that works in our trucks? I have the standard bench seat.

No gas tank behind the seat so I'd like to put a subwoofer/speaker enclosure behind/under the seat. Something like the pic attached.

Any suggestions?

That box looks nice if it will fit. I was thinking of using 6x9's under my seat. The boxes I found look like they would fit, but would have to take the seat loose just to get the boxes under there.

THis box above looks like it would take two 10" subs in it with enough cubic space for a good sound. Do you have any more details about that one? Id be interested in that if you do.

That picture was just an example of what I'd like to have. I found it and a bunch of others on www.Newegg.com Here's a search link to truck speakers there.

I'm not sure which would work since they don't include dimensions.

I made this for my truck. I think if I would have put the sub where the amp was I could have made a bigger box for it. As it is I had to cut a half moon out of the back so I could get it back far enough so my seat would go all the way back. It is a 10" sub. That is a piece of plywood bolted the back with boxes screwed to them. I think I might try and design something differnt. I did this 10 years ago.

not a ton of room behind the seats, look at how deep your tank is and thats about what you can get.

there was a company called q logic that made the narrowest truck boxes I ever saw, they had a molded plastic piece in the back so the magnet would be recessed as far as possible.


they are cheap on ebay. rockford dealers also carry them. stop by and trail fit them.

Just make something nice. It's so easy to do and so much better than those crap prefab boxes.

agree somewhat, some I see are 1/2" particle board and sealed with glue, not silicone. those get boomy and leak.

the q logics are high quality, when I was an installer years ago they sounded great and were much higher quality than what a comparable amount of money would pay for in custom work.

I ditched my bench to eek out some more leg room. Since I lost the "Behind the seat" area, we made a box and console combo.

When I moved the tank out of the cab I built 3/4" particleboard speaker boxes behind the seats, then covered them with carpet that matched my floor. 12" sub between the seats, 6x9's outside the seats, amp under the passenger seat.
