Can a Ford have a little love, too?
I picked this up from an estate sale this year. It was my early xmas present. It's a 1991 F150, 2wd, Lariat with a 5.0. It's like brand new, no rust, no dents and the a\c still blows cold.
Everyone deserves a couple of old trucks. Last edited by jimbonice; 12-26-2012 at 01:21 AM. |

Why does it not seem so long ago that that was the body style on the local Ford dealer's lot? Man, time flies.........

Re: Can a Ford have a little love, too?
As long as you maintain a proper ratio of 2:1 GM vs non-GM vehicles, we will let you off the hook. Especially if its a good deal on a clean old truck.

That's a nice truck, my favorite body style of those older 80's/90's Fords! Looks like you got one heck of a deal

Re: Can a Ford have a little love, too?
To answer a couple questions, the exhaust still comes out under the bumper but I stuck a couple of round stainless tips on it. Looks fine if I do say so. The trans is an E4OD; close to the first year I think.
The seller was asking $6500 for it and I lowballed at $3000 and we settled on $3500, which is a decent buy for Canada. It was literally the last thing in the estate and they wanted to move on. It's as clean under the hood and chassis as it is on the outside. I checked out the price on drop I-beams, but they're expensive, so I'm not sure if it'll get dropped. And thanks to the mods for moving the thread to where it belongs. |

Re: Can a Ford have a little love, too?
I'll say it quietly on this board, but the best trucks I ever had were Ford F-350's from this era. I lived in northern BC at the time and drove crew cab, long box, 460 powered 4x4's to get to work. Big dana's in both ends, 1 auto and 2 five speeds. Put well over 400,000 k on them all with no major repairs ever. They all still ran well when sold; burned no oil. Tall tires, 5 speeds and 3.54's allowed for some pretty quick drives home at 80 mph on logging roads. Picture 23 feet of truck sideways on every corner for the 3 hour drive. Angels were watching over me in those days.

Re: Can a Ford have a little love, too?
Yeah 3500 you stole that big time. Its probably been garage kept it looks too clean not to be.Yeah i have owned a few fords and even the ugliest one i had wouldn't die on me.It was a 80 f150 2wd inline 6 c6 i blew up the c6 once and killed the rear end but the engine wouldn't die.The other was a 86 f250 6.9 idi diesel was rusted out but ran prefect i sold it for more then i bought it for.
