70 Burban

I have the chance to get a suburban very reasonable and a pick up, but I'm torn between the 2. Could someone tell me the pros and cons to the suburbans like cost of parts compared to the trucks?!?!

Re: 70 Burban

The cost of parts are really about the same, its just with a suburban there are more of them like seats, windows etc.

The main drawback I have found is they arent as popular as trucks so some things are harder to find, but I love the fact that not as many people have the suburbans.

Re: 70 Burban

Basically what I'm seeing in difference is body parts, the suspension and everything like power train is the same...right?

I think the reason I like it there are none around my area and its just different

The doors are different and the tailgate is different. Pretty much everything else is the same.

I understand THAT! I just bought a '68 Panel ....... same reasoning. Can't wait to get at it but it'll be a bit yet. You gonna post more pics? And do a Build thread? I'd like to see it as it progresses.

Re: 70 Burban

I saw that burb on CL for a long time. It was very tempting to go over to NC and buy it. I am glad that a board member picked it up, it's got alot of potential. Good luck with your project.

Re: 70 Burban

It does have a lot of potential, also some rust!
I'm not sure how long it'll be before I really get started on it due to 2 other projects but I'm hoping I can make a decent cruiser out of it

Re: 70 Burban

Well after the rain and snow went over to the Burban took the wheels off to put some tires on them that wouldn't blow out. Now I'm thinking of painting them before I put tires on.
