The Brake light gets its' ground from a switch on the combination valve or the parking brake. Unplug the wire from the brake combination valve. Look on the left end of the frame crossrail that runs between and under the front of the engine but not quite under the radiator...
Boy that description doesn't flow well... The round white plastic plug with no wire on top in these pictures. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...84&postcount=5 Check that the parking brake switch is plugged in and switching. I'm not sure about the turn signal lamp.

It's also important to rule out other causes. For example, I know that my brake light doesn't turn off even when I disengage the e-brake, and it's because the spring and cable are so worn out that the pedal doesn't return all the way and therefore doesn't hit the switch. Try pulling up on the e-brake pedal, or manually press the button on the pedal to check and eliminate that as a possibility.

You may have bumped the parking brake while working. Check your bulbs in your F/R turn signals. I've had bulbs die and the filiment lay down on the running lights and do this.
