Re: Bell housing Questions
Yes, there is a difference in the bellhousings. The juice clutch ones are specific...and often rather expensive. I believe, however, that a bracket is available to bolt onto your mechanical bellhousing to convert it to juice.

Re: Bell housing Questions
Get a normal bellhousing and one of these brackets for the hydraulic slave cylinder.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/add-715535 Much cheaper than a true hydraulic bellhousing. I've been looking for 6 months, cash in hand, for a decent priced hydraulic SM465 bellhousing and haven't found anything cheaper than the 250 dollar eBay ones. I am probably about to just buy that 40 dollar bracket above and a cheap mechanical linkage bellhousing. |

Re: Bell housing Questions
Look at this on eBay:
GM CHEVY TRUCK ALUMINUM BELLHOUSING SM465 6263756 GMC 5 BOLT BIG OR SMALL BLOCK http://bit.ly/Vwqzv9 I found this and it says it is for a 12" clutch... Muncie, t10... Will this work with my 465? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Bell housing Questions
That's not the one I'm talking about. My truck is an 88 model R30 with SM465 and the bellhousing is much different than that. It has a built in bracket on the driver's side to bolt the slave cylinder to.
Like this one... http://www.ebay.com/itm/160948357318...84.m1423.l2649 |

Re: Bell housing Questions
I watch like a hawk. The first time a 100 dollar or less one pops up anywhere, I'm on it, assuming it's the style I need. All it will be is an eBay blur as I hit the pay button.
Problem is, while it's stock on my truck and mine needs replacing due to cracks in it, all of the rock crawler guys like them for building their trucks, so there's a good number of people in the market for them. |

Re: Bell housing Questions
I'm no bellhousing guru, but it doesn't have the pedestal on the side of it for the slave cylinder. That tells me it's a later style and will require an internal slave cylinder setup.

Re: Bell housing Questions
That makes me feel better. At least I know my perfect bellhousing isn't sitting unused half way across the country somewhere. I'm definitely looking for the one with driver side slave mount.

Re: Bell housing Questions
Y does it matter the side slave mount? Clearence issues? Is the driver side better in any way?
