Rear passenger door lock

Hi all,

This should be a no brainer.

My son was in the back passenger, when he unlocked the rear door and said "uh... dad???" and I looked over and he had the lock button, and a threaded J rod.

My guess is there is a C-CLip or something that goes into that J-Rod.

So my questions are, what is the missing clip, where can I get the clip, and how bad is it to put the clip where it belongs.

I can't find any photos or videos explaining what I need to do.

Any advice would be greatful.

This is a 91 R-1500 burb.
