My passenger door is pretty rotted at the bottom. To get a new skin welded on costs significantly more than an entire door shell.

I have an all-power door, how hard would it be to transfer the guts to another new shell? I figured if I got a used door I would have to sand and paint it, why not just start with new metal...

I'm sure many have done it. I've changed handles, moldings and key cylinders on later model vehicles - but the whole power window setup and installing the glass is uncharted territory for me...

its not to hard at all I would guesstimate might take a first time person a tad over 3 hours. but after that learning curve about an hour. I had this debate with my brother before why buy skins when a new door can be had for under 120 bucks. one day I need to get into the goodies I have stashed in the attic new doors and fenders still in the box

Do it one piece at a time and it's pretty simple. You can always look at the other door if you get confused. Hanging it takes a little more patience

Spray the stud and nut for the wing glass good with penetrate. Very common for twisting off. At least here in the rust belt.
