School me on converting DRW to SRW?

On a 96 C3500 LWB, CC. Possible? Easy? How about shortening the frame to shortbed at the same time?

Re: hool me on converting DRW to SRW?

Rearend swap is easy, they're direct bolt-ins.
If I read your description right, you have a crew cab, right?
Easiest way to get a short bed is a frame swap, find an extended cab long bed frame, you'll only have to move a couple of mounts.

There's a crew on C/L with no bed. I was reading all the threads here and see the frames can have major differences, I was wondering how hard it would be to cut this one down and throw a short bed on it. I didn't want to remove the cab if I didn't have to.

It's a beyotch, you'll have to relocate spring hangers, plus the frames aren't straight, they get narrower as they go back, nothing will line up straight.

Thanks! I'm startin to like that ECLB frame idea better n better. I'd seen it in another thread but wasn't sure if it was the best way. Looks like it's gonna be a while before I could get started on that project anyway, but it's good to have the info. The axle swap was my bigger concern, I see DRW's all the time.
