I just put a t5 in my 66 last month. Wish I would have done it earlier. The t5 swap in the faqs helped me out a lot.

I have the 3.73 gear in mine. The 250's don't get the best milage in the world. I am getting around 17 around town.

I'm running a S10 T5. Stock rear end, great mod, 17mpg here also.

Im not sure if you can do much better then 17 MPG....you can only do so much with a Brick traveling down the road...
Theses trucks were not made to be aerodynamic Im sure some have gotten better by a little bit
