Sticky brake pedal

The brake pedal on my truck sticks down to where the brake lights stay on until you move the pedal back up with your foot. The only way I found out that this was happening is that I have a trailer brake controller under the dash. It lights up when the brakes are applied. The light stayed on after I released the pedal.

(Sorry for the long explanation)

Has anyone else found a way to fix this?

Re: Sticky brake pedal

Is there a spring that possibly wore out? That's kinda what it points to in my mind. Maybe play in the linkage. Those are my guesses.

Re: Sticky brake pedal

had the same issue. i just adjusted by brake light sensor. it is on the brake pedal under the dash-it is white (or mine is) all you have to do is unplug it and turn it to loosen it. (this is as long as it is not actually engaging your brakes). my pedal has about 1/4-1/2 in play and i just adjusted that out with the sensor

x2 on this.... I had the same problem and fixed it last week.

Something else I ran into as well, I noticed this started happening right after I rebuilt my rear-end & had to "re-bleed" my rear brakes.
what I found was that my prop valve was out of alignment due to the "rear" only bleeding & this was not allowing the brake booster rod to move back without resistance.
There was enough resistance that it would take the poor little pedal spring about 10-20 sec to move the pedal the last 2".
The funny thing is, I have the POL prop tool that screws into pressure sensor spot, but I forgot to use it

What I did to help fix this problem was the Ole' slam on the brakes trick....
