Peep mirrors

Where are you guys putting yours? I've never noticed till recently but I think mine looked kinda awkward in the middle. That and they weren't even functional to see out of. I'm thinking of lowering them or raising them after this round of painting. I'm just not sure what would work best. Post up pictures of yours!

Re: Peep mirrors

I've had them in a couple of spots on the leading edge of the door and on the top edge but every one I have had eventually loosened up to where you couldn't keep it adjusted so you could see what was behind you.

The main thing is put them where you like them along with not creating a blind spot. I'd rather look over or under my mirrors than around them.

Re: Peep mirrors

Top of door just to the rear of the wing window area. But I only have one small one on the driver side. Still have original mirror locations, this one is kind of like a "blindspot" mirror - only helps a little. Bad picture, but you should see it.

Re: Peep mirrors

Just took them off my 59 and put them on my 55 wagon. I tried them all over place with no luck. Not really good for seeing out of. I may try a set of the straight arm peeps, but most likely ill go back to stock. There just no good if you can't see to back into your own garage with them.

Re: Peep mirrors

The peep mirror is tough to use. Mine was factory on my '57 and the side mount spare tire removes even more visibility. It's installed at the top of the door. For many years I used a curved mirror stuck to the peep glass to help.

Re: Peep mirrors

Yeah wood1. That thing is sweet.

I didn't think of using the curved sticks over the mirrors. That would help a lot of situations. Keep the pics coming!

Re: Peep mirrors

I'm putting mine in the garbage. With a 3 window cab it's impossible to see any thing behind you with those mirrors. Now I'm looking at using mirrors off a VW Transporter with the arms mointed to the door. The head is 5 x 6.5" which is almost the same size as the stock mirror. We shall see...

Re: Peep mirrors

Yeah, they do have their spots, but The windshield mounted rear view works amazing.
