Standing Water
My fleet side bed is hold water. I would think after 40 plus years someone would have drilled drain holes by now. I did a search but couldn’t find anything on the subject. Does anyone have any tips or things to be careful of? It seems pretty straight forward. Thanks for the help.

Re: Standing Water
Every truck I've had had rust holes in the bed!
Seriously though, there should be drain holes in the bed up by the cab. One on each side.

Re: Standing Water
I had the same problem and asked the same question. Turns out, there are drain holes in the front of the bed. Yours are just clogged up.

Re: Standing Water
It's really an ingenious design! The drain holes allow the water to run out right on the cab corners allowing them to rust at an accelerated rate.

Re: Standing Water
Thanks for the advice. I will look harder for the holes, I didn't know there were holes already there. I was looking for about a 7/16 inch hole like the later models. I haven't cleaned the PO's junk out of the bed yet, that could be part of the problem.
