That setup looks like a pretty solid and safe way to have the truck up in the air to work under it. Good looking truck too.

Nate, here is one of my lift blocks, they have served me faithfully since 2000. I keep 6 of them in the garage, they are very useful.

Re: Tired of being lowered, raised it 8"

I have a set of stands like that also and love them. Mine are 12"x12" 7 boards high. Detroit Speed uses the same stands in their shop. I couldn't find a picture of mine but they look just like these. A couple of years ago there was a thread on Pro-touring.com about the stands.

We use something similar also. So much safer than standard jackstands.

Re: Tired of being lowered, raised it 8"

I've got ramps built out of 2X8's nailed together and cut on a diagonal. Works like a champ, except I probably should have gone with 2X10's, or even 2X12's. I'm not as skinny as I was when I made them.

Re: Tired of being lowered, raised it 8"

Great idea! I cringe every time I've been under my Jeep or truck while it was on jack stands and have thrown tires and wheels under it so if it did fall it wouldn't fall all the way and crush me. I'm going to have to make some of these!

I used either 2.5" or 3" deck screws. I can't seem to remember exactly.

Re: Tired of being lowered, raised it 8"

Wood glue would probably work better than screws if you have time and clamps or just don't have a drill.
