Another new guy, with a 69 C10 SWB
I've been lurking about the board on and off while helping friends with their c10s but didnt have one of my own..I had a 69 chevy and a 72 GMc in high school, both SWB fleetsides, and missed them greatly..(that was 30 years ago too) finally got another one for myself..I've restored 5 or 6 sixties camaros and currently have one underway at present, but the urge for another c10 never went away...Finally grabbed this one...needs a lot but does at least run and drive..Has a later vortec 350/th350 combo..with disk brakes and power steering already added..not bad for 1700 bucks I thought..its paint and bodywork are...Terrible...but you have to start somewhere I guess! I plan to get rid of the cheesy bucket seats (my head hits the roof anyway!), add a front bumper, reskin the doors or find better ones...etc etc..wiring is a mess too....It'll be fun for sure!!

Welcome to the forum Mike, thats a great looking truck and a steal of a price! which vortec engine is in there, Is it the 96-98ck truck 5.7? That is what I am going to run initially.

Re: Another new guy, with a 69 C10 SWB
Not for sure on the engine....I'll have to find out..It is a 5.7 but I'm not up on the newer series of small blocks, and I've only spent a few minutes poking under the hood at present. (screwed my back up and stuck in bed at the moment) anyway its now carbureted with an edelbrock highrise and a quadrajet...Headers...but no performance cam...still, it feels plenty strong..the paint looks okay from a distance but when you get closer you get the feeling it was someones first ever attempt!..same with the bodywork...but I'll get it straightened up eventually..I'm not looking to build a show truck ...just a decent shop truck/parts hauler...I think these are still the best looking trucks on the road!..

That's a good looking truck. Do agree with you about the seats.
