My truck came from the factory with nothing - not even a cigarette lighter...

Negative on that Harbor Freight light. I bought two and the magnetic disc on the back fell off the light and stuck to the metal surface the first time I used them. Now I have two more nice flashlights.

I did that one time, and I glued magnets to the back so it would stay put.

Kind cheap, but worked damn well for the $5 I had into it.

It may look cool, but it sucks.

I have two of these "Custom Deluxe" trucks now. There is nothing custom or deluxe about them.

One of them is manual steering, manual brakes, 250 six and 3 on the tree. Rubber floor, no AC, no sway bar, and no tilt (did any 3 on the tree trucks have tilt columns? Probably not.) It originally had an AM radio but nothing when I got it. The rust free short bed body was nice with no dents in the back of the cab, a straight-ish box and the price was right. It's easy enough to add options so I'd probably pick up another if it came along...

You can lose your wallet sitting on the seat next to you without the dome light at night. I'll be cutting holes when I get to that stage on my 84 C10 and 85...

It's only a two wire hookup because the switch and the wires exist for the floor light next to the ash tray. The hardest part will be cutting the hole in the inner roof panel correctly and fishing the wire from just above where a factory driver's rear speaker would be in between the inner and outer roof.

I'm surprised yours even has that floor light. My 77 GMC Siera plow truck has absolutely nothing for interior dome or under-dash courtesy lights. It doesn't look like it ever had any either because there are no holes in the door jambs (just dimples where they'd go) for the pin switches

x2.

It's pretty annoying not being able to see anything in your truck at night. Funny thing, after driving the truck for over a year, I was under the dash and noticed a bulb near the ashtray so I replaced it. Turns out I had a "courtesy light" all along. Lights up the floor nicely, but still would be nice to have a dome light.
