How to cut a Windshield Frame? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I found a windshield frame for a 73-75 Blazer this weekend but I have no clue how to cut it out, no access to electicity and I don't have any portable power tools. Can I just take a hack saw to it or is it too thick? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

the windshield frame, it is the metal that holds the windshield. the 69-75 blazers have the full removable top, the windshield frame is the metal between the top and the windshield. Because the top is removable this piece rusts out in alot of blazers and there isn't any replacement parts that are made for them. I'd like to cut it low enough to keep the pillars but I don't want to bring the whole firewall with me like I have seen others do.

Rent or buy a cordless Sawz-All. I was at Home Depo yesterday and saw a 18 volt Ryobi cordless Sawz-All - Need one of those - LOL.

Won't you have to cut yours to put it in your truck?

Yup, it would be a project but the only way to save a truck that still has a solid floor. If you want to continue to take the top on and off, then the windshield frame has to be solid. By the way, I don't have a 73-75 blazer anymore, but someone will be needing this part eventually and will have a difficult time finding it. I'll be able to pass it on to them cheap.
