Re: Has anyone painted inside their cab themselves?
I used the Krylon Carmel Latte in a can and it turned out pretty damn good, I think.

I was going to get Champagne Nouveau but my daughter thought the Caramel Latte looked better. This was after 2 quick coats on the dash. And a mock up og the gauges and wheel for color. I don't know what interior color options there were in '62, but I know there are a ton of stock interior color option threads on here that break it down. I wanted something close to stock and to find it in a spray bomb was a bonus.

Re: Has anyone painted inside their cab themselves?
Where did you buy the paint? It looks a lot like my factory interior color on my 66.I like the Idea of a satin finish, usually way more forgiving in terms of hiding imperfections and spray marks.do you have any pics of what you painted? How many cans did it take? What did u sand it with?

What is the difference between that and the champagne? Ol skool Chevy, any pics? Did you prime first or just scuff and shoot?

I plan to do the whole inside once all my fab is done. I just used a synthetic steel wool pad to rough/clean the surface. As you can see from the gauge pic, there were some spots I wasn't happy with and was smoothing. I am waiting to do a full repaint later. I am guessing about 7 cans to do the whole interior @ $6 a can.

Man I love this truck. The color, the stance, turned out so damn nice. Pictures don't do this truck justice, either.

Re: Has anyone painted inside their cab themselves?
My 16yr old son painted the whole interior of my old 64, including tu-toning dash.
I wanted something different, not stock fawn color. I think he did a killer job.

Re: Has anyone painted inside their cab themselves?
I did mine with omni single stage and a tp tools turbine system. My first paint job and first time using a turbine. Ran a couple of places and dry in acouple of places but not bad.

Re: Has anyone painted inside their cab themselves?
We painted my GMC with Ditzler (ppg) the factory color and formula are a satin type color (flattened) so it does not reflect in your eyes as bad as a shiny color.....Kieth

I painted my gmc with the Krylon nickle paint, not the most fun sanding and painting in the cab but it turned out good!

Re: Has anyone painted inside their cab themselves?
I prepped and sprayed the inside of this '65 with Spies Hecker basecoat, reduced 50%, then added 15% hardener to the reduced mix.
After it was put back together.
