help quick, ok to paint today??????
well i just got the whole day off
i want to start painting the rear of my frame with por 15. however the humidity down at the beach today is 97% and its going to be cloudy the whole day (been like this the whole week with no rain) is ok to paint without any sun out and 97% humidity? high is going to be around 65. i will just be brushing it on by hand. the por 15 can doesnt really say anything.. |

my best advice would be to read the can but most paint companies dont want you to paint with anymore than like 40% humidity because the moisture in the air will get sucked into the painted and eventually bubble it and rust under the paint. it should tell you on the can though

With POR-15 the higher the humidity, the faster it will dry. I would say go for it. Just don't open more paint than you can use in a short time.

Blake, Drizzlin in Irvine, dont know about HB. Never dealt with Por 15, Id suggest seeing if they have a tech line.

I've had experiences with paint and high humidity. I'd say hold off until it's less humid. I've used Rustoleum enamel on some parts on my truck and have found out that if you paint when it's humid, it takes FOREVER for the paint to cure. It'll feel dry to the touch, but it hasn't actually hardened yet. POR-15 is a whole different animal, but I think the results would be the same.
