I am looking forward to getting my 69 done, and want to build a muscle car next, but have narrowed it down to two, which i have found locally and i guess i just wanted to get the advantages of both from you guys out there.

69 camaro ss

70 chevelle ss

The chevelle is in better shape.

well if both was int he same shape id say six in ne half dozen the other.. id go with the chevelle cause ya say its in better shape

well both of those cars have any part readily available by many different vendors and the oppurtunities are about endless with either one from a stock restoration to a full out drag car. if i were you i would get whichever one appeals to me the most. it doesnt matter really what other people are going to think you need to pick the one that is going to bring you the most enjoyment

well, i personally like the chevelle better, my dad had a 69 ss, but my wife really likes the camaro better, and i just want her to be interested in something i do (she thinks my trucks are cool, but will never drive one)

i'd go for the camaro. the body lines are cleaner, i think, on them than the chevelle.

Never been a big Camaro person...Go Chevelle....especially 68 or 70.

Depends on which motors you got in 'em. There's no replacement for displacement!

But, I'm a little partial to Chevelle myself. You just can't beat the bulging muscles and the four headlights of the '70.

I agree, if one is a BB, go for it.

With similar powertrains, I'm partial to the 69 Camaro

Joe, i like your 2000 sierra, on your exhaust, is it a kit, or did you have a custom job done? Also, are those delta flow or just plain 40's. I also have a 2000 gmc, but have straight pipes on it. Just wanted to tone it down a little but have it sound tough

As for the motors,

camaro is an ss but has a 350

chevelle is also an ss, but is a 396

But the chevelle is also about a thousand more than the camaro

Depends on all the options. Is the BB in the chevelle #'s matching or anything???? I grew up on chevelles, so I am a little biased. I started out with a 72 Heavy Cheavy, then bought a 71, and lastly a 69 SS............... Would love to fix one up but would settle for finding the time to fix up my truck...........Later..........JB

Both would be fun! Why not buy your wife the camaro and you the chevelle? Well, I guess you don't have a money growing tree either. Chevelle are not as common at all the big shows as the camaros as far as I have seen, but my brother has a camaro and man is it fun. I would go for the camaro unless the body needed a whole lot of work. The other thing that would be cool about the camaro is that you wife would be interested in it. That would be cool if she was willing to help you work on it! Either one would be sweet though. Good luck picking a car!.

A 1970 Chevelle SS....was my 'ULTIMATE DREAM CAR'....30 yrs ago. Probably still is...if I ever get the chance. I had a 67 SS...was wonderful...but IMO..nothing has sleeker lines than the '70!

If I were you, I'd go with the Chevelle. However, if for some reason you don't buy it, could you PM me with the details about it? I have a friend who is looking for one to restore. He is so desperate he pulled his dad's 69 chevelle parts car out of a field, and wants to work on it (total piece of junk). It's hard to find anything that he wants that is close. Thanks!
