Vintage air glove box?

ANyone have a pic of the vintage air glove box installed? I am CLOSE to getting my system charged, but was wondering if the plastic glove box fit inside the dash cut out for the glove box or outside the dash cut out?

I put in an Old Air setup. I bet it's the same glove box liner. The new glove box liner goes in from the front. You screw though it. SO inside the dash cut out. There should be little dimples for where the screws go.

I just installed my Vintage Air glovebox. Just like Frank said slide it in from the front and it sits inside. All you have to do is drill some holes. It's not much of a glovebox, just fills up the hole.

Thanks!
Hey, Mixup, Did you install the whole system yourself?
If ,so, I had a question about the larger a/c hose that goes from the compressor to the evap. (can't remember if it is the suction or discharge line????). If I use the V.A. clips that are for securing the air cap to the rectangular part of the firewall cover, about 1/2 of the crimped part of the hose is inside the air cap and 1/2 out side and the gromet is REAL tough to get positioned. I was thinking about tossing the clips, pushing the air cap back further toward the fire wall, and securing it with small screws, so that most of the crimped part of the a/c hose will be on the outside of the air cap........what do you think? Did you have similar problems?
Mike

Mike my whole system is in except the hoses. A friend of mine owns a Radiator-A/C shop and he is making the hoses for me this week. I'm at work when I get home and look at the directions I'll let you know.

Mixup,
Thanks for the reply.
The more I think about it, my cover is probably going to have screws too.

Sent the pics but it showed me how good my memory is...lol. After looking at them I see I used the clips and some self tapping screws to keep the thing from popping off

Got my A/C hoses made yesterday and the Vintage Air unit works great. 33 degrees at the center vent.

Re: Vintage air glove box?

VA glove box install inside opening. Tight fit but box very pliable (installed and removed 5+/- times, UGH!).
Good luck,
Serge

Re: Vintage air glove box?

I slid mine in with the end closest to the center first and slid it past it's position so I could swing in the side closest to the passenger side. I installed the VA box the same way the factory box was installed in my truck, with the bottom portion being sandwiched between the lid hinge and the lip for the dash and the sides and top are behind the lip for the dash. I didn't have to drill any holes and I used the factory hardware except for the 2 side screws which were missing anyways. I snapped a few pics. Hope it helps.
