anyone bought inner fenders from apw?

Hi guys

Im looking for an inner fender to replace my rusted out passenger side (under the battery box).

I see that Auto Parts Warehouse has one in stock for 76 bucks. free shipping.

Has anyone ever used these parts on their truck? If so, how was the fit/finish?

thanks

Re: anyone bought inner fenders from apw?

I've never bought one thru PAW.I will tell you that there are some differences.I have seen at a swap meet 2 different thickness's of metal.Just be sure they are the heavier ones.I know most if not all the BB vendors carry the better quality ones.

Re: anyone bought inner fenders from apw?

here's something interesting. I searched for the part number they have listed for the inner fender on APW. you can find them here and there for 50-60 bucks depending on the site...but...the shipping ranges anywhere from 90 to 190 (yikes). so, I'd say, yeah, 75 shipped is a good price, not sure of the quality, but I'd almost risk it, or, buy one to cut it up and repair my oem one with it lol.

Re: anyone bought inner fenders from apw?

I just ordered one. Worst case it will make a nice patch piece for the inner fender I have.

Re: anyone bought inner fenders from apw?

Mine showed up this morning via FedEx. Ordered it Wednesday at almost midnight.

Looks like its the same thickness as the factory pieces. Can't speak for fit yet.

I'm impressed, especially with the free shipping.

Shawn

Great news!

Is it primed? Painted?

Im heading to the junkyard tomorrow afternoon, so if i hear that it fits well, i might just by this thing instead... save me a few hours prepping an old fender and drive time

keep us posted!

Its black paint, looks like the same stuff all of the repair panels I have been buying are painted with. I have to rip out the heater box and make a small repair to the radiator support when the inner fender bolts in. Then I'll put this in. If the holes line up this is a home run.

Re: anyone bought inner fenders from apw?

Got mine from Classic Parts, $89 bucks a piece. They bolted right up and came painted black. LMC & Classic Parts are 120 miles south in Kansas City so I just picked them up at the counter with a fender when I was passing through...

Best I can do with the IPhone. I painted the upper side with Rustoleum Black hammered finish paint. It comes out a dark silver with black highlights, and will be the entire engine compartment eventually. I'm going to go back with undercoating on the bottom later on.
