One year with Ol John Lee

And here is the tally.

11500 miles driven since 26 December 2011. All without significant gettin stuck kinda breakdown (did roll in slow on a blown clutch in Sept 12) and most every repair job conducted in the home garage (except the clutch overhaul-that was farmed out) so not more than a handful of days lost to down time. Pretty much qualifyin as a reliable daily driver. Not a bad deal for swapping a few hunting rifles.

The 2012 punch list is bigger than I planned for. On the must have list for 2012 was only, tune, suspension and brakes.

Heres the punch list of work accomplished and I'm pretty proud of it, it reads as a success story. The list is bigger than I expected and all fun.

- Replace Radiator and add overflow tank.
- New heater hose
- New thermostat and gasket
- New oil sender
- New front main seal set
- New intake seal
- New PCV and hose
- New valve cover gaskets
- Basic oil changes
- New clutch assembly
- New brakes (upgrade to split system with dual master for Drum/Drum)
- New rear suspension and springs
- New front suspension and springs
- New shocks
- New Rochester 2G carb
- Tune as needed
- New plug wires and plugs
- Repair headlight harness
- Repair front turn signal bulb sockets
- Repair license plate lamp
- Install new bed wood
- Mount spare tire in right bedside
- New tires on original rims
- Front wheel bearing repack
- Four new brake drums
- Drivers side and center rear view mirrors
- New wipers and arms
- New sun visors
- New tail pipe

Up for 2013 is new powerpack (Ironclad 327), exhaust, Muncie M20, Differential rebuild with 3.42 eaton posi and new axles/associated parts.

Oh yeah, and 3 bucks, 2 does brought home in the bed.

Re: One year with Ol John Lee

We are still drivin...but no real leaks just burnin oil at a furious pace. About one quart of 20W50 per 150 miles!

I think we're goin back to puttin in the oil drained out of the chrysler and the ford for now.

Made my parts list for a 327 and M20 and posi and startin to prioritize the lil stuff like gaskets. Hopefully, May 2013 is powerpack month. If I'm lucky, I can afford the M20 at the same time and then do the eaton posi and 3.42 rear gear in aug or sep.
