northeimcustom Registered User Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: WISCONSIN Posts: 291	how many amp alternator do i need?? i have an 83, sbc with dual electric fans, no power windows, no power locks. when the fans turn on at idle, engine bogs. the alternator was on a 305 truck so not really sure how many amps it currently is pushing. adventually i am going to be running HIDs and 2 compressors...... what is my best choice for a new alternator?!?!?!
