Cool New kid On the Block with a 98' 3 door stepper

Hello Everyone,
I have a 1998 Chevy Ext Step side.. Its got the 5.7ltr Vortec with a few issues, I got water in my oil but its not my heads from what i can see i took the water pump off and it looked like the dam thing was on the rag. well not really any Big Plans for it its just my D/D Prodject. The pump should NOT be the cause of the coolant in the oil. It only connects to the water jacket. Not the oil galley. The bolts that hold the pump on do require sealant as some of the 4 bolts go into the water jacket.

Vortec's are notorious for their plastic intake gaskets and too few bolts to hold it down. I've changed mine 3 times in 180K miles. There are better ones out there now.

My money is on the intake gaskets.

I know its not the water pump but i pulled it off anyway to test it and its crap, yea we all thought it might be but wernt sure were more old motor guys not this new stuff haha but i already planned to replace it thanks for the help though
