Rebuilding my RC Chevy Crewcab 4x4
I built this truck in 09, I think.
Its my typical Chevy build using 2 Tamiya Clod Buster bodies, a 3-speed trans, and RC4WD transfer case, and some really cheap aluminum rails for the chassis. Just a quick peak back at the past on this truck.. This is the real truck that I used as a guide for my RC version. (no clue whose it is, except I know it used to be in Iowa, I think, and its diesel powered, supposedly) ![]() The body before I started.. ![]() The 1st chassis... and clunky looking axles, but it was all that was available at the time. ![]() and then all layed out with the stuff.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is the 3-speed exposed. ![]() ![]() ![]() This was what it 1st looked like. (cab lights were too big) ![]() ![]() OK, Fast forward to a couple weeks ago.. I stole the axles from this truck.. ![]() These, they look more realistic. ![]() and I had a leftover chassis, that looked a little more realistic also. Its in the foreground, the old one is in the rear ![]() I didn't reuse the 3 speed, (I hardly ever took it out of 1st gear anyway)when I put everything on the new frame. I just used a single speed transmission. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And now.... ![]() ![]() ![]() And if you made it this far, after all the pictures... I have a video of it. ![]() . |
