WTB: Bed wood and skid strips

When I bought my truck the bed wood was completely rotted out. I added plywood to the floor to have something there. I know how much I'll have to spend for new bed wood and I'd like to have a factory floor in it before driving season. I'm putting my feelers out there to see if I can piece together a low cost floor for it. I'm just looking for driver quality stuff. Show me the pieces you have and tell me what you'd want for it. My zip is 23229 so you can calculate shipping.

Dang!! Almost forgot...its a 67 short fleet! Thanks in advance!

Are you good with a table saw??? Go to GMC Pauls website and it gives all details on how to build your set, wood is cheap, you can build it out of anything 3/4" thick, then just find the strips, cut long beds down, can be done on the cheap...

Re: WTB: Bed wood and skid strips

Thanks. I have seen GMCPauls page and Wes Hepp has a page giving the dimensions too. My closest friend has a router table at his work and we have discussed ripping the boards and installing my own wood. If I did that I still need the skid strips. If I can piece together a cheap set of boards I like the idea of the aged look (not rotten). I wanna continue the hunt but that is an option for me.

I have a 68 long bed up here that has the original wood that was covered with a camper for most of its career, in unbelievable condition. The truck had very low miles with only a quarter sized rust hole in the firewall below the fuse block.

Sounds too good to be true (read:expensive). Can I get a pic? If its in that good shape I don't think I could bear to put a saw to it to cut it down to SWB length.

I shudder to think what it would cost to ship those planks from Calagry to Virginia!

Re: WTB: Bed wood and skid strips

I have the metal strips from a longbed for sale for $30 plus shipping. I can cut them down to save on shipping if you want. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=wood

Thanks,
Ray
